What is least privilege?
Least privilege is a core concept in cybersecurity that states users, systems, and processes should only be given the access they strictly need to perform their duties—nothing more. Restricting access reduces the risk of errors, abuse, and damage if an account is compromised.
Think of least privilege as handing someone a single key instead of the entire keychain—they only access what’s essential.
Example
A marketing employee is granted access to campaign tools and publishing systems, but not to customer records, finance platforms, or development environments.
Sicra and least privilege
Sicra helps organizations implement least privilege through secure access strategies, security architecture and policies. It’s a key part of Zero Trust and risk reduction efforts.
