What is a NOC?
A Network Operations Center (NOC) is a centralized operations hub that monitors, analyzes and manages an organization’s network and infrastructure. Its purpose is to ensure stable, secure and efficient network operations — without interruptions.
A NOC monitors traffic flow, availability, performance, faults and anomalies, as well as security-related events that affect network stability. The team handles everything from outages and instability to capacity planning, configuration changes and monitoring of critical services.
Metaphorically, a NOC functions like an airport control tower: it monitors all movement, ensures safe traffic, prevents collisions and alerts the organization immediately when something goes wrong — before it becomes a wider problem.
Sicra and NOC
Through the merger with Bluetree, Sicra has gained access to one of Norway’s most experienced NOC environments. Bluetree has delivered NOC services to organizations requiring high stability, particularly within industry, manufacturing, critical infrastructure and complex network environments.
Bluetree’s NOC services include:
- Continuous monitoring of network performance and availability.
- Fault handling and proactive issue resolution.
- Capacity planning and optimization.
- Operation and maintenance of modern network infrastructures.
- Support for both IT and OT environments.
When combined with Sicra’s expertise in security, Zero Trust, segmentation and SOC services, customers gain a unified model for operations and security — essential in environments where network operations and cybersecurity increasingly converge.
