Risk and vulnerability management - Managed Risk (MR) powered by Arctic Wolf

Sicra SOC Managed Risk is an important additional service that builds on Sicra SOC MDR by Arctic Wolf (Security Operation Center Managed Detection and Response).

Sicra SOC Managed Risk covers three areas:

  • Risk and vulnerability: Detected vulnerabilities are risk-assessed, making it easier to prioritize handling, especially for critical systems.

  • Framework management: When systems are scanned, a CIS Benchmark report for the current operating system is published. This can be further mapped to other security frameworks, such as NSM, NIS2, and NIST CSF.

Sicra SOC Managed Risk is an internal and external service that uncovers security vulnerabilities. The solution identifies known vulnerabilities (CVEs – cybersecurity vulnerabilities) and misconfigurations related to IT setups both on-premise and in the cloud.

Internal vulnerability scanning

  • Scans performed by physical or virtual scanners installed in the customer's environment to detect and scan network devices.

  • Can be configured to run monthly, weekly, daily, or continuously.

  • Tests devices for known vulnerabilities.

  • Can run locally or in a commercial/private cloud.

Host-based scanning

  • Uses the Arctic Wolf Agent to scan services and computers within the company's network.

  • Provides real-time endpoint telemetry, vulnerability, and misconfiguration information based on CIS Benchmark.

  • Compares data and checks for outdated software, configuration setups, and critical security controls.

External vulnerability and misconfiguration scanning

  • Does not require devices or software to be installed on the customer's network.

  • Identifies open ports, vulnerabilities, and misconfigurations by scanning external domains, IP addresses, web applications, and external services.

  • Scans for vulnerabilities (Injection, Broken Authentication, Broken Access Controls).

  • Self-service access to scan results displayed in a dedicated Managed Risk Dashboard.

Cloud security posture management

  • Addition to Managed Risk.

  • Performs monthly API scans against Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) environments to identify vulnerabilities and/or misconfigurations.

  • Includes Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
