After 10 years as Chief Executive Officer, Stig Valderhaug is stepping down and will continue in a new role within the company. At the same time, Gaute Lien takes over as CEO of Sicra. He brings extensive experience in cybersecurity, including leadership roles at Accenture and PwC, with responsibility for security services in Norway, the Nordics, and parts of Europe.

– When the opportunity arose to further develop one of Norway’s leading technical security environments within IT and OT, and to contribute to the company’s continued growth in Norway and the Nordics, I could not say no, says Gaute Lien.
Lien joins Sicra from his role as partner and head of the Cyber Security and Forensic Technology department at PwC Norway. He also has 18 years of security experience from Accenture, including as head of Accenture’s European cybersecurity team, and he has served as Head of Information Security at the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI).
– I bring with me a deep understanding of the complex threat landscape that large organizations face, as well as extensive experience in scaling specialist environments across borders. Sicra already holds a unique position with its strong technical expertise. My ambition is to build on this foundation to accelerate growth in the Nordics, while preserving the strong culture of knowledge sharing and professional pride that makes Sicra one of the country’s leading environments for security advisors, says Gaute Lien.
Stig Valderhaug founded Sicra 10 years ago and has served as the company’s CEO since then. However, he now wishes to reduce his workload due to health challenges. Valderhaug will therefore transition into a new role with responsibility for sales to new customers.
– The plan with Sicra was to create a good and secure workplace that delivers value for both customers and employees. We have succeeded in that. At the same time, we have achieved profitable growth throughout, says Valderhaug.
Recently, Sicra has undergone significant changes. In November 2024, Credo Partners joined as a shareholder, providing the company with the financial strength to accelerate growth. Last autumn, Sicra merged with the network and security company Bluetree. The company is now preparing for further growth and expansion.
– For me, this is the right and important time to step down. I am handing over a healthy company and a strong workplace to Gaute. He is the right person to lead Sicra into its next phase, continues Valderhaug.
– Stig has built a unique competence environment over ten years. Sicra is well positioned in a complex landscape where the threat landscape and technology are changing faster than ever. When we joined as owners in 2024, we agreed with Stig to facilitate his step-down, so we have been working on this over time, says Pål Prydz, partner at Credo Partners and Chairman of the Board at Sicra.
– We are grateful for the work Stig has done and are very pleased to have him continue with us on this journey. At the same time, we are delighted to have Gaute join the team and look forward to building on the foundation Stig has established, Prydz continues.
Lien will start at Sicra on May 11.
