The consulting firm Sicra is a new partner in the Norwegian Cybersecurity Cluster. This industry cluster, which started in the fall of 2022, is a collaboration between companies, research environments, and the public sector. The goal is to strengthen the framework conditions for those developing products and services that enhance societal security, particularly by facilitating collaboration that leads to innovations.
– We are strengthening Norway's position as a global leader in secure digitalization. We have attracted strong partners, and there is a lot of momentum and engagement in the various working groups, says cluster leader Guro Storlien Evensen.
Everyone in the cluster invests time and resources to develop innovative security concepts and set a clear agenda. This is done through working groups and workshops.
– Additionally, we are working to develop the cybersecurity market through innovation and by making even more leaders aware of the importance of investing in robust security, she says.
Nearly 40 companies participate in the cluster, including DNV, Eidsiva, NTNU, NorSIS, and several of the country's most renowned consulting environments. The initiative is supported by state and county entities such as Innovation Norway, Innlandet County Municipality, and business collaborations from the three largest cities in Innlandet.
– Sicra is known as one of Norway's most experienced professional environments in security. They bring a lot of senior expertise to the working groups. They will be an important partner, says Storlien Evensen.
Sicra's CEO, Stig Valderhaug, points to several reasons why the company wanted to become a partner.
– This is something our experts have wanted to be a part of, and we will gain knowledge that will be important for our customers. Here, we get to work with some of the world's most skilled experts in our core areas, which will provide insights and new concepts that will benefit us all. The fight against cybercriminals is an important societal effort. We are happy to lead the way, he says.
Valderhaug appreciates that the Norwegian Cybersecurity Cluster has set ambitious goals:
– The ambition is to enable Norway to become the best in the world at cybersecurity. This is by no means unrealistic, and it's exciting to be part of something with such bold ambitions.
– We want to be a voice for the entire security industry so that the companies leading the way have the opportunity to deliver the world's best solutions, says Storlien Evensen.
