What is response time?
In cybersecurity, response time refers to how quickly an organization can detect, react to, and resolve a security incident. A short response time is critical to limit damage, reduce downtime, and prevent financial or reputational loss.
Think of response time like a fire alarm and firefighters: the faster they arrive, the less the fire spreads.
Example: A company is targeted by a phishing attack. If the IT team responds within minutes, they can stop the spread and protect employees. If the response takes hours or days, the consequences can escalate dramatically.
Sicra and response time
Sicra helps organizations manage security incidents effectively through SOC services, incident response, and vulnerability assessments. With Sicra SOC MDR powered by Arctic Wolf, environments are continuously monitored, and the average response time from the occurrence of one or more unusual observations to the creation of a case is 7 minutes and 5 seconds – providing organizations with confidence that threats are detected and handled quickly.
