Sicra is growing. We are going to hire many more skilled consultants. More talented people mean the need for robust leadership grows. Therefore, Tom Børre Mythen is joining as Sicra's new CTO (Chief Technical Officer).
"After running my own consulting firm for 11 years, I thought it was time to become part of a larger professional environment.
After talking to several professional environments, I chose Sicra.
He will be part of Sicra's focus on operational security going forward.
Tom has held leading roles in national and international organizations for the past 30 years.
"I started as a programmer at Tandberg Data in Kjelsås in 1992. Eventually, I became the leader of the Software group.
He further explains that he was headhunted to ASK. Since then, he has held leadership roles in companies like Sceen Media.
"We developed a touchpad product based on Linux with great focus. When 9/11 happened, the investors got scared and withdrew their support.
"That's the story of how we almost launched the first major touchpad product on the market.
In addition, he has held leadership roles in companies like Strax AS in Copenhagen and Securinet AS in Lillehammer.
For the past 11 years, Tom has been self-employed and owned his own consulting firm.
"I was hired into the Eidsiva system for 7 years. There, I was hired as a project engineer responsible for building fiber centers and infrastructure.
"For the past 4 years, I have been hired as a total project coordinator on classified ICT projects in the Cyber Defense.
This means that Tom is security cleared for Secret/NATO Secret. It means gaining trust at a high level.
"The second highest clearance you can get. Above that, you have Top Secret and NATO Cosmic Top Secret.
Now he will join as CTO for Sicra.
Sicra focuses on professional expertise and will focus on high security for private and public customers going forward. Therefore, we need a CTO with operational expertise.
"Why did you end up becoming CTO for Sicra specifically?
"Sicra impressed me far more than the others I was in contact with. With Sicra, I felt reassured that I had made a good choice.
Tom explains that one of the things that sparked his interest in Sicra was their focus on a good work environment.
"Sicra implements measures where others give speeches. The opportunities for remote work and Mia's coaching are good examples of that.
"The first conversation with Stig was very reassuring. I did not experience that with the others I spoke to.
Sicra's already strong professional environment was also a motivation for choosing Sicra, he says.
