What is red team?
A red team is a group of security professionals who simulate realistic cyberattacks to test an organization’s ability to detect, resist, and respond to threats. Unlike traditional security testing, red teaming focuses on the full attack chain—from infiltration to objective completion—mimicking the tactics used by real-world adversaries.
Think of a red team like professional burglars hired to break into your building—not to steal anything, but to show you how easily it could be done. They use the same techniques as actual threat actors, but with permission and the goal of improving your defenses.
Sicra and red team
At Sicra, red teaming is a key approach to evaluating how well an organization is prepared for advanced and targeted attacks. Through realistic threat simulations, organizations gain insight into both technical vulnerabilities and organizational responses. This provides a comprehensive view of their security posture and helps guide improvements in technology, processes, and preparedness.
