They use Sicra for the biggest challenges: – It's a professional community that stands out

Vestfold and Telemark County Municipality, with over 4000 employees, is one of the largest and most important workplaces in the region. The county municipality has been working with Sicra since Sicra started in 2016 with the idea of only hiring the most experienced senior consultants.

– Sicra is a professional community that stands out, and the best community in Norway for NetScaler. They have expertise we don't have ourselves because we don't want to spend resources on things we do rarely. It's better to bring in external expertise, says Trond Holmøy.

He explains that Sicra has assisted them in various situations, including the design and setup of a new Citrix Netscaler solution (ADC) to replace some old, physical NetScalers.

One of the reasons the county municipality initially acquired NetScaler was to load balance a larger Exchange environment, which Sicra helped with. This has now been moved to the cloud, while old IT systems have been replaced and modernized.

– We have focused on protecting the data center in a secure and comprehensive manner. It was beneficial to have access to expert competence from Sicra, says Nordnes.

Sales Manager at Sicra, Thomas Eide, praises the IT environment at Vestfold and Telemark County Municipality.

Therefore, the county municipality handles the daily operations themselves, and Sicra steps in when specialized expertise is needed to tackle major challenges – whether at the network or service level, or when complex services need to be set up or integrated with solutions like Microsoft Azure.

– We use Sicra when we need to consult with someone who has experience from many different places and who also knows our environment. They have broad knowledge and understand what can go wrong, making it valuable for us to get advice from them on what is smart to do, says Holmøy.

Sicra assisted in scaling up solution for 4000 employees working from home

At the start of the pandemic, the county municipality had to facilitate that 4000 employees could suddenly work from home.

Sicra assisted in setting up a VPN solution that was originally intended as a small solution, but it was scaled up during the pandemic to handle many more users.

– We set it up ourselves but received valuable help from Sicra, says Nordnes.

Together with Sicra, the county municipality received the help they needed to scale up the solution so that all 4000 employees could work from their home offices without compromising IT security.

– Sicra's consultants have been very pleasant to work with, they are proactive and focused on solving even the most complicated challenges effectively. It's when things get difficult that Sicra truly excels, concludes Nordnes.
