Azets provides solutions for accounting, payroll, consulting, and business services, and has around 6,500 employees and more than 120,000 customers in the Nordics and the UK. The company has had a good partnership with Sicra for many years, with Sicra being their main partner for Citrix.
The company previously used a traditional Citrix solution based on terminal servers, which does not work with public cloud platforms. At the same time, they had several services already running in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and naturally wanted to move the Citrix solutions to the cloud as well.
The solution was to set up the terminal servers ("workers") in AWS, while Citrix Cloud itself runs in Azure – a task that is not necessarily straightforward.
– We received very valuable advice from Sicra. They helped us choose the right solutions and with the transition from traditional Citrix operations to Citrix Cloud, says Stian Brustad, Manager for public cloud at Azets.
The project started with a workshop where Sicra outlined the best plan for the transition, a plan that assumed there would be no downtime.
The actual migration work was done by Azets' own highly competent IT department, but Brustad says they saved a lot of time because Sicra advised them on which Citrix licenses they needed when switching from on-prem to cloud. The consulting assistance was especially useful during the transition period when Azets began the technical implementation.
– It's also about maintaining a good user experience for our employees, and how we could move everything to the cloud and continue to present the desktops to the employees without interruption, says Brustad.
In addition to using Sicra as a regular partner for everything related to Citrix, Azets also hires senior advisors to help with what Brustad calls "technical intricacies" when needed.
