Kai has mostly worked on several large projects around the world.
– I like and am good at working on big problems. I think on a large scale, but I am concerned with how the small details create a bigger picture.
At Wilh. Wilhelmsen, he was responsible for building data centers in South Africa (Richards Bay), Australia (Sydney), Dubai, Malaysia, Rotterdam, and Lisbon. He worked there for 10 years, 5 years as a consultant and 5 years as a permanent employee.
– I was also involved in building the network for Sea Launch Commander and Odyssey for NASA. It was educational to work with so many sincere and skilled people.
Kai worked for the Norwegian Oil Fund for 2 years, and was involved in establishing the network at the New York office.
– We rented and stripped a floor to concrete in a skyscraper in Manhattan right after 9/11. When we were finished, it was a functioning financial center. I was the primary developer for the world’s first Corporate Bond Spread trading system.
He worked as a junior developer for Barclays Plc Business Internet Banking (BIB).
– At Barclays, I worked with people who felt like rocket scientists. They came from various backgrounds. People had backgrounds as chemists, mathematicians, and musicians. Everyone had a burning interest in creating.
Kai’s hobbies include everything from growing vegetables and tomatoes to coffee nerding and Ashtanga Yoga.
– I am passionate about food and like to work with fresh produce I have grown myself. It is also important that the bumblebees and bees have something to eat. I practice biodynamic farming and am concerned with the biodiversity around me.
