Sicra is pleased to announce that Oddbjørn Skauge is starting as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).
He will help promote cybersecurity in a way that makes employees' daily lives easier and more efficient.
- Good security is often seen as a necessary evil, but I want to show how cybersecurity can create a safe, yet more efficient daily life for employees.
Oddbjørn is therefore a representative of more user-friendly cybersecurity at Sicra. He is yet another addition to the talented people at Sicra.
Oddbjørn will spearhead an initiative for CISO-for-hire.
- Not everyone can afford to have a permanent CISO, but many companies need someone who can fulfill the same functions.
Oddbjørn will act as the link between Sicra and our partners. The goal is to ensure that Sicra can strengthen the bonds with customers and partners even further.
- Sicra is good at delivering a wide range of cybersecurity services. Arctic Wolf specializes in SOC. River Security excels in pentesting. My role will be to follow up on these partnerships even more closely, so they work even better.
In addition to helping Sicra's CTO with internal ISO27001 certification, Oddbjørn will also assist other companies in preparing for such certification.
- Such assistance to companies falls under the entire CISO-for-hire package that Sicra will offer going forward.
Developing proactive and automated solutions will also be an important focus area for Oddbjørn's role at Sicra. He is very focused on making employees' daily lives easier and more efficient, yet still safe. An example of this could be SSO.
- SSO (Single Sign-On) for all solutions means that the user only needs to deal with one username and password. Even better if this can be done biometrically and password-free. If the user has to have unique passwords for each solution, they forget them and start writing them down, says Oddbjørn.
"Then they easily get lost, which we have seen many examples of. A hacker usually doesn't hack in, but logs in!"
An important task for Oddbjørn as CISO will be to communicate expertise and smart solutions to the market and partners. This means being an active participant in cybersecurity seminars, so Sicra can share and exchange expertise with others. Customer visits will also be an effective way to disseminate knowledge.
- Sicra is a knowledge culture. We are not like a dragon hoarding a sea of gold. Sicra sees a common interest in making society wiser when it comes to communicating cybersecurity.
Another means is to have stands at trade shows.
- We want to be more present in the security landscape going forward. Stands at trade shows like the Security Festival will be a focus going forward.
- We will also be much more proactive in the media. Therefore, I want to focus more on writing.
