What is deep packet inspection (DPI)?
Deep packet inspection (DPI) is an advanced method for analyzing and filtering network traffic. Unlike simple packet filtering, which only inspects packet headers, DPI goes deeper and inspects the actual content of the data packets being sent over a network.
Sicra and deep packet inspection (DPI)
Specialists at Sicra can implement Palo Alto Networks’ firewalls and F5’s BIG-IP, which include DPI as part of their solutions.
F5’s SSL Orchestrator uses DPI to encrypt and inspect SSL/TLS traffic. F5’s BIG-IP uses DPI to deeply inspect traffic to identify and block malicious traffic, as well as optimize traffic flow.
Palo Alto Networks’ Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW) use DPI to inspect and identify threats.
