Coaching is something many companies engage in. At the same time, not all companies take as holistic an approach as Sicra. While many companies limit themselves to training their employees, Sicra goes a step further. We include their partners and children. We have realized that our consultants are whole people. This means they have not only professional needs but also personal needs. Because of this, Sicra has collaborated with leadership and personal trainer Mia Skriver Haukås from Tipping Point Methodology (TPM) since 2017.
How we feel at work affects how we feel at home. How we feel at home affects how we feel at work. This is a mutual relationship that Sicra is committed to addressing in a good way. We at Sicra care about our fellow human beings.
- There is no vaccine against life, Mia points out.
It is important to get help to handle challenging situations that arise in the family or at the workplace. Leaving unresolved situations hanging often leads to more stress and, in the worst case, illness. It affects the ability to perform and thrive in life and at work. For this reason, Mia is an essential ingredient in Sicra's culture building.
Mia offers interaction training and leadership training through TPM's unique toolbox that all organizations can benefit from. It is not always easy to achieve genuine interaction at work. People are different and therefore have different needs.
"Every person has different personalities. At the same time, we have different experiences, perspectives, and conditions", says Mia.
If the workplace does not have tools to meet these differences, it can affect internal cooperation. Sicra is committed to a good work environment where everyone thrives. We therefore use Mia's TPM toolbox to address problems when and preferably before they arise. Mia's efforts with coaching individually and in groups are consequently a crucial factor for Sicra's success.
Life is not for amateurs. There are difficult things that happen in life. Everything from illness to challenges with various forms of relationships. It is nice to have tools that make it easier to master these challenges, she elaborates.
Everyone at Sicra has some form of family. Family relationships do not always go smoothly. Being a person in meeting with other people can be difficult, and not everyone has received good enough relationship tools from home or school. It can be about everything from how we handle finances, how we can communicate well together, and achieve a greater degree of self-confidence.
Many can have high self-confidence in what they can do, but not everyone has high self-esteem. Self-esteem determines how we communicate with ourselves and others. It also determines the choices we make in our lives.
Whether we make healthy or less healthy choices is linked to how good our self-esteem is. The self-esteem of the consultants affects how they meet other colleagues and Sicra's customers. Building up the consultants' psychological safety in themselves and others on the Sicra team is therefore important to us. Coaching from Mia is a path to that goal.
